About Your Dentist
Dr. John Vespa grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduating from Regis High School, he continued his education at the University of Iowa and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1990. In 1994, Dr. Vespa graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Postgraduate preparation included partaking in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Michigan, completing the program in 1995. Dr. Vespa worked for a private practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota until returning to Iowa in 2006. He has been a member of the Dental Professionals team ever since and practices at both locations. His professional affiliates include: the Des Moines Dental Society, the Iowa Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Vespa enjoys spending time with his wife, Peggy, and their three daughters: Lauren, Allyson, and Rachel. He also enjoys golfing and cheering on his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings.
Dr. Jeremy Pins has been with Dental Professionals since July of 2002. He grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, where he attended Dowling Catholic High School. Dr. Pins earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Drake University in 1997 and graduated from the Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2002. Dr. Pins is a member for the Des Moines District Dental Society, the Iowa Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Pins enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Danna, and children, Zoe, Noah, and Jacob. He enjoys watching his kids activities, enjoying a round of golf, and participating in triathlons.
Dr. Gary Jacobsen was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. After graduating from Sioux City East High School, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1986. Dr. Jacobsen graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1993. During his studies there, Dr. Jacobsen did extensive research on both the Coronavirus and the Herpes Virus. He received honors for his research research and was chosen as a Hatten Award Finalist. Postgraduate preparation included a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Jacobsen has been in private practice at Dental Professionals since 1994. He served as a delegate for 15 years for the Iowa Dental Association and is currently a member of the American Dental Association. Other professional affiliations include the Des Moines District Dental Society, chairman on the council of Dental Health State of Iowa for six years, a Pierre Fauchard Academy Member, and founder of the Society of Indianola Dentists Study Club. Dr. Jacobsen is an avid member of the Warren County community. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and traveling with his three children: Kelsey, Carter, and Quinn.
